Presented by Jay Lesenger
Duration: 1 hour
Italian composer Riccardo Zandonai is best remembered for this gripping tale of love at first sight and violent jealousy. Tricked into marrying the misshapen Gianciotto, the title heroine surrenders to her true passion for his noble brother, Paolo, which ultimately dooms her and the lover. Jay Lesenger explores this lesser-known work and its riveting story.
