Tenor Mario Lanza made his operatic debut in 1942 with Berkshire Music Festival, but it would be his portrayal of tenor Enrico Caruso in the 1951 film, The Great Caruso, that would cement him as the world's best-known operatic tenor to appear on film. However, Lanza had a constant struggle trying to balance a film career with a desire to appear on the operatic stage. Join Jane Marsh as she explores the unique voice and career of Mario Lanza, from his early beginnings in Philadelphia to the heartbreaking end to his life and career.
