Donizetti composed Lucia di Lammermoor in 1935, a time when he was regarded as "the sole reigning genius of bel canto Italian opera." Jane Marsh and two singers delve into the musical, vocal, and bel canto traditions of the opera's tragic lovers, Lucia and Edgardo.
Featuring Chelsea Davidson, soprano; Paolo Buffagni, tenor; and Eric Sedgwick, piano.
