Based on the play Kabale und Liebe (Intrigue and Love) by the German writer Friedrich Schiller, Verdi's Luisa Miller tells the story of two doomed lovers trying to find happiness in a world of family feuds and political machinations. John J.H. Muller explores this lesser-known Verdi gem.
